How to replace Launchpad on macOS 26

春哥

With the release of macOS 26, Apple permanently removed Launchpad.

Attempts to return it using old methods relevant for beta versions (for example, through Terminal commands) are now blocked by the system.

Luckily, there are great third-party apps that not only bring back the functionality you’re used to, but often expand on it. Here’s a selection of the best replacements.

1. Alfred (with launcher function)

This is an iconic tool for macOS. By pressing a hotkey, it brings up a search bar that instantly finds and launches any application, file, or performs a calculation.

Runs faster than any graphical Launchpad.

2. Raycast Pro

A powerful and stylish successor to Alfred, rapidly gaining popularity.

In addition to lightning-fast application launch, it has built-in extensions: calculator, window management, Emoji search and much more.

3. LaunchOs

LaunchOS is an application organizer for macOS, an alternative to Apple’s native Launchpad. Restores the familiar look and functionality of the original Launchpad.

5. uLauncher

Clean, lightweight launcher with flexible settings. Launched by hotkey, supports search, folder creation and appearance customization.

7. LaunchNow

Classic launcher with advanced sorting options: by frequency of use, installation date, alphabet. Allows you to easily organize even a large number of applications.

GitHab (Free)

8. AppHub

More than just a launcher. Shows available updates for your programs and has a built-in application directory. Universal control center.

Official Website ($9.99 Lifetime Price) Download from appstorrent (Free)

9. BuhoLaunchpad

A very lightweight and simple application created for one purpose – to be a quick and discreet replacement. Nothing extra, just the essence.

Removing Launchpad is not the end, but an opportunity to find a better tool.

Try a few of the top options and you’ll probably find that the new launcher is more usable than the old one.
